IELTS preparation for Turkish speakers: what makes DexterLearn different
This page says what DexterLearn does and does not do for IELTS. We do not run other apps down; about them we write only facts anyone can check.
What changes for a Turkish speaker
- Explanations in Turkish. Tap a word you get stuck on and see its meaning; 5 words a day on the free plan.
- Turkish school exams in the same app. LGS, TYT and YDS sets are here too.
- Speaking practice with Turkish guidance. The live coach has a class teacher and a student mentor character; 275 scenarios between A1 and B1.
- Alongside general English. 172 stories, 230 grammar cards and 594 chapters from A1 to C1; 318 of them in the 14+ band.
What is here for IELTS
- IELTS Reading: 50 passages in the academic style.
- IELTS Listening: 24 sets. The recording plays once and then you answer, as in the real test.
IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP IELTS and Cambridge University Press & Assessment; registration and official scores sit with them. DexterLearn is a preparation app, not a test provider, and does not sell exam registration.
What is not here
This is the most important section on the page. We do not write up anything that is not there.
- No IELTS Writing module. There is no section where you write a practice essay and have it marked.
- No IELTS Speaking test format. The app has pronunciation work and conversation practice, but not a test rehearsal with cue cards and parts.
- No band score estimate. We do not give you a predicted IELTS band for your practice.
- No official practice test. Material published by the test owners is not in this app.
- No exam registration. You register with the test provider.
